JPIM Paper Development Workshop
Date: June 5, 2026
Location: Hengqin
Fee: Free
Professor Ruby Lee (JPIM Co-Editor-in-Chief) and Professor Chengli Shu (Xi’an Jiaotong University), will host a Paper Development Workshop (PDW) on June 5, 2026, in Hengqin, as a pre-conference event. The workshop invites research proposal submissions aimed at developing papers for potential publication in JPIM. The submission deadline is March 30, 2026, and decisions will be communicated via email by April 20, 2026.
Purpose of the PDW
The purpose of the PDW is to provide prospective authors with a clear understanding of what the JPIM seeks to publish—namely, meaningful and rigorous scholarly work that addresses consequential questions in the innovation domain. The workshop will also highlight common issues that may lead to a paper's rejection, whether at initial review or in later rounds. In addition, the PDW aims to foster early interaction between JPIM editors and potential authors to help align manuscripts with the journal’s priorities, offer direct feedback on in-progress working papers, and create a collaborative platform for networking and idea-sharing among scholars in innovation studies.
Application Procedure
Participation in the PDW is by application only, with a maximum of fifteen papers selected to ensure effective feedback and development. Each accepted submission will be represented by one author only at the workshop. We particularly encourage junior faculty, postdoctoral researchers, and authors who have not yet published in JPIM to apply, although all submissions are welcome. Selection will be based on the potential benefit to the author and the theoretical and practical significance of the research.
To apply, please email your application to cljshu@xjtu.edu.cn with the subject line “APMAC2026 – JPIM PDW.” The application should be submitted as a single PDF file and must include:
